So we haven't gotten much done in the past couple of days because of the rain, overcast, and cold weather. However, yesterday we did manage to find a neat potato restaurant that raises the standard for baked potatoes to an unprecedented level. Steam, bacon, and sour cream just won't ever cut it again.

According to Matt, this potato even rivals the legendary Idahoan famuz potatoes. |
Today we had a holiday because of Ascension, so Alyssa and her friend Robby came for a visit! Alyssa's been studying over in Clermont-Ferrand all semester, and she decided to spend one of her last days in France with us, sharing her wizdumz on the Francophone experience. At first, we went to the school picnic to mooch some food, but there wasn't that much so we moved on. We spent all of two hours showing her the works of Vichy: Lac d'Allier, Napoleon III's work, the spring-water sources, the park, a church, the residential district, and old people. There were a lot of old people. I guess what people say is true.
We spent the day walking a lot of the residential district. Alyssa's an architecture major, so she enjoyed taking photos of the railings and gratings. |
This building was painted to look like a shop. It definitely beats the aesthetic of the dead market district around it. |

She stopped once every few feet. We'll regret making fun of her she claims. |
